Express Action Sports

I’m possibly attending Camp Woodward this summer and I’m trying to figure out which camera I should buy for their Video Production camp. We film for Action Sports (specifically skateboarding and BMX), so if anyone who is perhaps a former Woodward camper or skateboard edit filmer, please help me!!!!!
I want a camera that’s going to last me for a long time, and something with HD, and hopefully not used. I have a price limit of about $3,000, but I can make my budget fit around it.

Also, I’m not looking for a GoPro right now, but if you’d give me any advice about that, it’d help.

GoPro would be the way to go.

I do a lot of sports and action photography, specifically snowboarding and skateboarding. What is a good quality wireless flash trigger that will work with my Nikon D3100? I would like something compact and light weight to avoid any clutter in my backpack. Any suggestions and/or stores/links would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Amazon has a non OEM remote that has been rated highly & cost less than Nikon’s unit. Keep in mind the wire less function works only in line of sight.

hey emily. The sport that would be totally cool for a girl to do would be skateboarding and motorcross. You already see girls doing field hockey and what not but not so much skateboard and do motorcross. I myself skateboard and love it. Been skating for almost 4 years this august. So i would go for motorcross/skateboarding. But remember there’s a price to pay when doing these sport. *HINT* bone crushing, skin splitting, and whatever else

Its like $995 for a week and we each have about $150 saved up and i was wondering if anyone had any good ideas of how we could raise money. Im planning on selling my xbox 360 (i dont play video games much) but i dont think id get over 200 for it.thanks for any ideas

Best idea get a job dont sell your 360 at most you would get
125 – 150 depending on version and generation

I know youre going to say its not the camera its the photographer, but i need to make sure this shoots good for fast moving objects.

Im a beginner and i like action photography, like soccer, baseball and skateboarding. Is this a good camera to start off with?

Is this a good lens to begin with for sports?

I have a cousin that plays soccer, one that plays baseball and a good friend that plays football and i would like to start shooting for their games. Is that a good enough setup?(If you recommend a different lens at that price range or maybe just a little more expensive, let me know).

And these are the ones that i really want once i get a higher paying job.

Don’t know about football but I’ve shot plenty of soccer. The 55-200 will do but see if somehow you can’t find the money for the 55-300 or better yet, the 70-300

hey, i just aquired a nikon f70 slr camera, I really enjoy it, but i want
to start taking some pics of snowboarding and in the spring skateboarding and mountain biking. right now the lense that is on my camera is a AF NIKKOR 28-70mm, is this good enough, any recommended lenses?

I just answered a similar question in the "camera" section on Yahoo! Answers. But for someone with a D80 and he was using his camera for his kids playing sports. Both are going to have alot of movement and action, so you want to capture the action in a still frame with out the blur.

If its for sports and action shots. A good one for that type of stuff with out breaking your budget is the
