Express Action Sports

The only two player (Same Room) games I have found so far are Guitar Hero3, Rock Band and Sports games. I really would like to find a two-player racing game where we didn’t have to take turns. Even a game like Mario Brothers. All games now seem to be geared towards multi-player, online action; but, we have friends here that want to play together 🙁

One racing game which has offline multiplayer is ridge racer 7. Im not sure about burnout paradise
Dont get Motorstorm or Formula One as they are only one player.

I’m getting a game today for the ps3 and don’t know which one to get. I like racing, shooters, action, and adventure games. So please don’t add any sports games. I would just like a list of the best games out there because i’m having a difficult time choosing a game. Thanks.
