What is the difference between PMI and GTI concerning Paintball Guns?

March 1st, 2013 1 comment

I just need a little information about paintball guns.

PMI is a brand/company. Stands for Pursuit Marketing Inc. They were absorbed into what is now considered Empire, which is owned by KEE Action Sports (some huge sports conglomerate).

GTI is a particular model of Piranha, a marker made by PMI. I don’t know what GTI stands for, though. If i had to guess, it could just be adapted from the racing term, "Grand Touring – Injection." How that would translate into the Piranha GTI, i have no clue, aside from sounding cool.

What are good beginning paintball guns?

I was looking at a Spyder TS gun from dicks but people say ones from Dick’s sporting goods break easy

You should by one online. Try ebay or action village.

How much would a decent fully automatic paintball marker go for, at the least?

November 28th, 2012 3 comments

I’ve never played before, but I’m interested in starting soon.

A Spyder Pilot ACS is most likely the cheapest fully auto capable marker you could buy. They can be bought new for under $100 if you do a little browsing. Action Village has them pretty cheap but the web page isn’t working for me. http://www.actionvillage.com/AVI-Paintball/paintball-paintball-guns-spyder-paintball-guns-electronic-spyders

Beings your new to the sport I will tell you many paintball field don’t allow the use of anything other than Semi auto. Thus, you may not even get to use the full auto or burst modes on the marker at all. It only takes one mark the size of a quarter to be out, not 30 hits. A much better marker than the Pilot would be a Smart Parts Vibe http://www.actioncenterpaintball.com/paintball/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=32&idproduct=1019 or SP1 http://www.actioncenterpaintball.com/paintball/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=32&idproduct=1020. They are low pressure electropneumatic operated, thus they are quieter, have less recoil, wear out slower, and more efficient on gas.
When using a marker in full auto on CO2 you will experience major velocity drops and each paintball will go a shorter distance and be less likely to break on target. You will also begin freezing the internals of the marker and if you continue firing you can face some fairly serious damage to the marker that will put you out of the game until you fix it. The most common is freezing your O-rings, doing this will cause them to become brittle and become damaged much easier. It’s not a huge problem, but it can put you out of a game until you replace them. Using HPA/N2 instead of CO2 will fix these problems, however HPA/N2 tanks cost much more than CO2. A 20oz. CO2 tank will give you an average of 1100 shots per fill. to get about the same number of shots using HPA you will need to use a 68/4500 HPA tank. They will run you about $150+ new.
There are many more things you should know and I could tell you but I am very slow at typing and just don’t feel like taking the time to type it. So instead I urge you to go to http://forum.specialopspaintball.com/ and create an account, it’s free, and ask the members all the Q’s you have and what you should know about the sport of paintball. Many of the members are very well educated in paintball and are more than willing to help you out if you just ask. If you wish to contact me you can do so, my email is Brandon_Weigel21@yahoo.com

What’s the difference between these two paintball guns?

What is the difference between the Diablo Slayer and the Diablo Wrath? please list both good and bad about the guns. THANX 🙂
Please tell me which is better, Diablo Slayer or Diablo Wrath. What is the difference? Please pick one and tell me what is a must have for an upgrade on that gun. THANX 🙂
10 pts. for best answer

These models are closely related.

The differences:
The Slayer uses duckbill ASA, plastic grip frame, black grips, LED display and less milling on the body.

The Wrath uses a non-standard dovetail ASA, metal frame, clear grips, and LCD display (thus clear grips to see LCD).

The similarities:
Same barrel, feed neck, regulator, body (except the Wrath has some additional milling which is negligible to performance).

If you are choosing between the two – I’d opt for the Wrath since it has the LCD display and metal trigger frame.

Upgrades will depend on the Wrath that you get and personal preference but commonly done are bolt & board for higher ROF.

Bolt: Delrin or Teflon bolt and pin if you get the marker with the aluminum bolt. You can get these online from Alamo City Paintball. If you get a final generation or Wrath LTD then it has a plastic bolt with is comparable to Delrin.

Boards: If you get the BD5 board, it’s okay but hard to reach past 10bps. You will probably need to look at the Scenario Dreams T-Board for about $60 or Virtue for about $135 or get the R15 board from Kee Action Sports (will work with stock LCD unlike aftermarket boards) for about $65. There is also the Lucky Board but that is pretty rare to find. Stock BD5+ will be better but some still upgrade from that one to the aftermarket ones listed above. If you get the R15 off the bat, you’re good since it’s as good as the aftermarket boards. FYI – Stock board model will display on LCD when first turned on.

Barrel: Autococker threads

How do you refill the co2/air canisters for paintball guns?

November 9th, 2012 3 comments

My son will be 14 soon and I am wanting to get him a paintball kit for christmas. I know nothing about paintball. Do the canisters come pre-filled, are they disposable, do you refill them? How?

To fill a CO2 tank, you need to be trained for the task. You can get a CO2 tank filled at your local paintball store, paintball field, or in many cases your local sporting goods store.

Just my two cents… Do yourself and your son a favor. Invest in a compressed air tank, especially if the field he will be playing at has the capability to fill them (and most do.)

Compressed air will work with all markers — from low-end, entry level to high-end tourney markers.

Now you do not have to buy a fancy carbon fiber tank for $150+. There are aluminum compressed air tanks for sale for prices that are very comparable to CO2 tanks (check ANS Gear or Action Village.)

Typically entry-level or lower-end, mechanical paintball markers use (or even come with in a package) CO2, which is fine and does the job. Some mid-level, lower-end electronic markers will also operate on both CO2 or compressed air. Most of the mid- to high-end markers will only operate (recommend) using compressed air.

There is a noticeable difference in performance between using the two sources…

CO2 is inconsistent. It is affected by weather and the pressure will have a tendency to spike.

With compressed air, it is consistent. You will not have those issues.

By buying a compressed air tank now instead of a CO2 tank, you will have one less upgrade to purchase, should you son get more serious about paintball and start looking at eventually upgrading his paintball marker.

Questions about Paintball guns?

I’m new to paintball and was thinking about buying this http://www.amazon.com/Spyder-Victor-Paintball-Marker-MEGA/dp/B002FY9136/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1269848425&sr=8-1 and how do you know if its semi automatic, automatic, and I’ve also heard about something like bolt action, what the heck is that, does that mean you have to cock it every time? For this gun what would it be?

thanks

okay so here it is spyders are strong reliable guns.

however they are not known has high end markers.

this gun is a mechanical trigger and it is semi automatic. . .

when you are looking at a spyder gun this is not the one you want. . . go with a higher end spyder for 160 bucks you can get a spyder electra and it is a great gun shoots fast looks good. . . but you will spend double of what the victor will cost you. . . so if you dont want to spend that much then you should buy a spider pilot.

so check this gun out. . . it will be better in every aspect when u are talking about paintball do not go to cheap and the victor is a cheap gun.

here is the link. http://www.amazon.com/Spyder-Pilot-09-Paintball-Gun/dp/B00261CW02/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1270132683&sr=1-4

i know it is not a kit. . . but u can ball all the other equipment you will need at your nearest paintball proshop or wallmart.

Information Regarding Key Action Sports Paintball

Paintball is an action game played by both men and women, regardless of age and size. Each gun or rifle shoots small pellets filled with paintball markers instead of bullets. Unprotected skin will feel the sting of the balls from the paintball guns fired from various directions. Wear slightly heavy protective outer garments to act as a barrier between the paintball markers and the body. The padding will keep the paintball markers from leaving a paint mark on the clothing.

Information Regarding Extreme Sports Paintball

September 12th, 2011 No comments

Many people think that airsoft and paintball are dangerous, but the truth is neither one of these extreme sports produces more injuries than a common club sport (ie. basketball, football, baseball, etc). If you are thinking about joining either of these sports, all the power to you. However, while both sports are safe, airsoft is considerably more intimidating than paintball. The fire rate for airsoft guns is usually around 300-450 fps. Paintball guns rarely reach 300 fps, in fact, most paintball fields have restrictions that disallow players to have a fire rate above 300 fps.

Airsoft bb’s can pierce objects, including human skin. Paintballs are designed to inflict as small amount of pain as possible. Which is why a paintball is wider, and more blunt. Because of a paintballs large surface area, the force of a paintballs impact is distributed over a larger target area. Which causes there to be less pain in one specific area.

Paintball is an action game played by both men and girls, regardless of age and size. Every single gun or rifle shoots smaller pellets filled with paintball markers rather of bullets. Unprotected skin will really feel the sting of the balls from the paintball guns fired from varied directions. Wear slightly heavy protective outer garments to act as a barrier among the paintball markers and the body. The padding will preserve the paintball markers from leaving a paint mark on the clothing.

Head and Face Protection

1 of the most prominent places of the body that wants protection is the head. When the paintballs fly from just about every direction for the duration of the game, it is critical to guard the head, face and eyes. Wear a soft baseball cap backwards so the brim covers the neck.

Wear Comfy Clothing

Do not wear heavy wintery pants or jackets even when the game is getting played outdoors. The game entails jumping, climbing and hiding. Wearing clothes that are too heavy builds up a body sweat. Wear layers of clothes rather of 1 heavy garment and peel off 1 item at a time when the body feels too hot.

Wear loose jeans. Preserve those stylish jeans at dwelling. This game entails a lot of bending, running, jumping and sneaking. Do not wear bright colored clothing. In order to blend in to the war zone, wear outer garments the color of the grass, trees or bushes. This will preserve the player much less most likely to be hit by paintball markers.

Wear Running Shoes

Wear comfy everyday running shoes, function shoes or hiking boots. Older shoes are already broken in and will not hurt the feet for the duration of the heavier action activities. A alot more skilled player could want to think of obtaining shoes or boots with cleats.

Hand Protection

Frequently, knitted gloves will deliver protection from the impacts of the guns when shooting. Those new to the game can wear comfy knit winter gloves. If the fingers on the gloves make it tricky to pull the trigger of the paintball guns, then cut off the fingers of the gloves.

Guard the Eyes

In order to guard the eyes, wear goggles for the duration of action play. They should certainly fit snugly, really feel comfy and stay on for the whole game. Make confident they do not fall off when running or jumping. Attempt them out at dwelling ahead of working with them in paintball.

It is not crucial to invest in highly-priced regulation paintball-sort clothing when understanding the moves of the game. Play a couple of sessions and find out some method ahead of joining a team. In the meantime, it is fundamental to wear any sort of clothing that gives protection to the skin, face and the head.
