I am getting an AIM sports 3-9×40 scope. I mean, can I take the scope rings off the scope, and put them back on in different spots (when I say different spots, I mean can I slide the ring over a few inches)so I can adjust the eye relief? Right now, my eye relief would be off by about 5 inches, so can I move the placement of the rings to get it to the correct spot?
Also, "Universal Bipod", does that mean it can attach to every RIS out there?
Thanks a lot!
I guess you mean horizontally as you’re looking at the rifle from the side.. This all depends on the mounting system and rifle. If you have a big rail like on top of a flat top AR-15 then you can move the rings wherever you want. If it’s something like a bolt action it will probably have rings that attach to the base in a given spot and can’t be moved. Of course you can also loosen the part of the ring that clamps around the scope and slide it back and forth in the rings to adjust eye relief and then clamp it back down. 5 inches is a pretty huge amount to be off in eye relief though. Are you sure you don’t have one of those extended eye relief scout type scopes (or a regular scope with scout mounts) or a handgun scope on there?
And most bipods are pretty universal. Bipods usually are designed to either attach to a picattiny or 1913 type rail, or to a sling swivel stud.
Well, no. Eye relief is the distance set by the scope’s manufacturer that one’s eye has to be from the rear lens in order for the image to be properly in focus so you see the whole image. It also refers to how far your actual eyeball is from the rear lens. You can’t adjust the "eye relief" of the scope. But you can, and must, move the scope/mounts so that the distance your real live eyeball is from the scope in your normal comfortable shooting position, and the distance the manufacturer set, are the same. You shouldn’t just clamp the scope on and then adjust your shooting position to match the scope’s eye relief. That’s a recipe for poor accuracy. Adjust the scope to your shooting position.

I’m going to school next fall for sports journalism, so I need a good camera. I am also living in the rocky mountains for the summer and would like to get some nice shots out there… I’m not sure if I should get an SLR, or a really good Point and Shoot. I don’t know very much about photography and I need a user friendly camera to learn on.
Thanks!
There is NO really good P&S that will do the things you need your camera to do as a sports photographer.
* P&S cameras have sensors that are over 15 times smaller than a DSLR, 30 times smaller than a 35mm SLR
* P&S cameras come with one lens and that is it. SLR’s and DSLR’s use interchangable lenses … from fisheye to 600mm telephotos.
* P&S cameras suffer from shutter lag making catching the action in sports nearly impossible.
You will learn a lot about photoraphy in school ..
Before you buy anything, talk to your instructor(s) and see what camera you will need to use for your classes. My guess is they will tell you that you need a 35mm SLR to start and after a few classes, you may be able to buy a DSLR to add to your "sports" lenses …
There are NO user friendly adjustable cameras … thats why we get the big bux.
While as a student, you will not be required to supply your own 400mm f/2.8 lens (over $7,000), you will be expected to know how to get rock steady images.
My other guess is that you will end up with either a Nikon or Canon 35mm SLR … you can buy them used on craigslist for under $200 with a decent normal zoom lens (24mm-70mm is common)

I can understand why best actor/actress in a drama is different than best actor/actress in a comedy because the two are very different and hard to gage with proper perspective. But why are the different individual acting awards separated by sex? Shouldn’t we just have awards for best thespian in a ______ (insert show type). This isn’t like sports where physically, its very difficult to have men and women play together. Acting would seem to be a level field right?
It is now, but it wasn’t traditionally. In certain genres, actresses used to have a completely different job from actors.
It’s only since characters like Ripley and Lara Croft have come along that women have got to play action leads, for example, and those roles are still pretty rare.
I guess the academies and other givers of awards are always going to be behind the trend, but I wouldn’t be surprised if eventually there is only one award for best actor, regardless of gender.

Baseball, football, basketball…
I really noticed this when, at work a lot of Europeans visited and they all talked about soccer, bike racing, extreme sports of all kinds. It was actually interesting hearing intelligent conversation about other sports for once, besides the stupid apes in America who chase a ball around like retards.
This was like a year ago, before the World Cup Soccer tournament too.
There are basketball leagues all over Europe, so I guess that blows a hole in your position.
And honestly, your oh so eloquent "chase a ball around like retards" bit can just as easily be said about soccer.
You claim to want intelligent conversation, only to throw insults around. That’s quite hypocritical.

I’ve noticed that over 15 years of gaming, there is lava in nearly very video game that I play. Is there a reason for this? The only games that I’ve played that doesn’t have lava in it is Pikmin 1 & 2. Has anyone noticed this odd trend in gaming?
Of all the games I played since the SNES all the way to the Ps3, About 75% of the games I owned has lava in it. I guess every developer of the games with lava in them think having volcanoes and fire is cool. Only games that I know that don’t have lava in them are Saints Row, Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, etc. (any games made by Rockstar). A lot of sport titles (since they involve sports and not action) don’t have lava in them either.

I hate having conversations with people, I guess I’m way more of an action person than a talking person. If I do talk to people, I would talk about interests, not about useless crap I don’t care about. People say it’s always good to mention stuff like the weather, what the person is doing, about other people’s lives, but I could careless about any of that. I could talk for HOURS about sports, video games, snowboarding, cars, movies, etc. but only less than 5 minutes about random crap like gossip or other people’s personal stuff.
hallelujah im not the only one! thank you

No, it isn’t. I hate small talk too. Its usually really boring (not just other people’s small talk, but mine’s too), and most people I know only use it to break the ice if they have nothing else to talk about.
I have no clue why i’m asking this, just curious i guess. Do people in the military tend to do extreme sports? (such as climbing, whitewater rafting and mountainbiking)
WAIT I GOT THE RIGHT QUESTION!!!!
"Is the military a large demographic for extreme sports?"
Yes, they participate in war.
Next question!
how are action games on the wii?
I guess sports games are good.
But what about action?
like the lego star wars? Medal of Honor? No More Heroes? etc…….
awesome dude!!!!!!!!
ive played medal of honor and it was sweet
and i own redsteel which is awesome!
