What system past or present would you recommend for a starting gamer?

February 4th, 2013 6 comments

I would recommend the Atari VCS for people who like retro games
For the person who likes sports games I’d suggest the PS1

NBA Jam came out for the Snes so for sports I would recommend that for "Starting Gamers"

For RPG Gamers the Snes and PS1 had more RPGs then the xbox, xbox,360, gba, nds, 3ds, wii, wiiu, and ps3 combined.

For shooters I would recommend Golden Eye on the N64 since it’s what sent the FPS from indie to mainstream.

For Online gamers I would recommend PC because it supports every MMO out there.

For Platformers I would make them go back to their roots with either sonic on sega or mario on the NES

For Turn Based Strategy I would send them back to basics with Shining Force on the SEGA

For Survival Horror I would put them on the PS1 for Resident Evil 2.

For action adventure Link holds the crown on the N64.

For racing Gran Turismo 1 on the ps1 would be a good start.

I would definately check out Modern Warfare 2 when it comes out in November. Also, there is in fact a painballing game called NPPL Championship Paintball 2009, however I have not played it myself. Perhaps rent it to check it out before you make a purchase.

Playing a good FPS. Would you prefer a console controller or keyboard and mouse?

January 3rd, 2013 3 comments

I’ve tried playing FPS like Halo with the xbox controller. It’s not as accurate or effective as using a keyboard and mouse. The design of the mouse is such that you can accurately aim and fire with it , as opposed to a 360 controller where you roll your thumb , the reticule hops all over the place , can’t aim.

The controller’s good for sports games , and action games…but if you’re trying to aim with that dumb 360 stick forget about it , it’s inaccurate as fuck. Your thoughts.

If your talking about the 360 controller specifically then I’d have to say that I don’t like the design of that controller it just feels uncomfortable in my hands and I don’t like the location of the left analogue stick and directional pad. But I do prefer a good console controller over a keyboard and mouse.

What is better for sniping in paintball pump action or semi-auto?

January 3rd, 2013 5 comments

A ball being loaded slower won’t affect accuracy. Not to mention that there is no such thing as a sniper in the sport of paintball.

Each marker is shooting under 300 fps and will all go the same distance, and since they are round projectiles, rifled barrels will not work AT ALL.

However, Tiberious Arms invented a paintball with these little fins called ‘First Strike’ rounds. They only work on the Tiberious T9 but they are way more accurate than regular paint. They also work in the Empire Traccer pump marker, but you have to manually load each round which is kind of cool if you like the whole sniper milsim idea.

What camera would you recommend for a photography beginner?

December 12th, 2012 6 comments

I’m intrested in photography and I am just wondering what camera you would recommend for a beginner? 10mp + please and the less the better.
I am aware of megapixels and I would like more than ten because my compact camera is 10.2 and if I’m getting a new camera for more money, I want it to be better than my current for a lot of reasons.

If you are really on a budget and want the best quality for the money, check out the P&S Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 [with a Leica lense] which has more features than most pro DSLRs that require auxiliary lenses not even equal to the single initial full-range lense that comes with the FZ28. What are some good cameras for a beginner with photography and video capabilities?

December 4th, 2012 4 comments

I am new to photography, but I don’t want a cheap-o digital camera. I want a real one, not one that families might use for pictures to send to grandma. I would like it to not only be a good photo camera, but be able to take video for more than 30 seconds. Anyone have any suggestions?

What is a good camera for taking videos at concerts?

December 3rd, 2012 2 comments

Okay so I have a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S780. It takes pretty decent pictures but when I take videos at concerts, the sound is horrible. I was looking at some live footage on YouTube and some people have cameras that have really good quality sound. I don’t want those beastly video cameras, just a digital camera. Any suggestions?
