Express Action Sports

I’m possibly attending Camp Woodward this summer and I’m trying to figure out which camera I should buy for their Video Production camp. We film for Action Sports (specifically skateboarding and BMX), so if anyone who is perhaps a former Woodward camper or skateboard edit filmer, please help me!!!!!
I want a camera that’s going to last me for a long time, and something with HD, and hopefully not used. I have a price limit of about $3,000, but I can make my budget fit around it.

Also, I’m not looking for a GoPro right now, but if you’d give me any advice about that, it’d help.

I’m really good at trail riding dirtbikes also I’m amazing at quads. I would try to do motocross but that’s one of the most costly sport out there. I’m good at snowboarding not great. I’m terrible at bmx (I eat shit) I don’t live in a great location for Action Sports bmx is big here but like I said I’m terrible.
Well what sport? I don’t have a lot of fear I hunt a lot play air soft paintball.

How about Mountain Biking…

What is one thing you wish the a company could offer or what could companies improve on when it comes to outdoor products? Anything from gear, to apparel or even accessories. This include action-sports or just enjoying everyday outdoor life.

You said it right there " action sports". Its outdoor world, so the company should expand into action sports, where most of them are done outdoors. For example: Motocross gear, skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, wake boarding, bmx…. the options are limitless. may just need to select certain locations for products like these. When it comes to products for Action Sports you need to do your homework on it, because people like myself that are in to these kind of recreational activities don’t like knock offs or the places that sell them so if you decide to go this direction make sure you have a good selection of good products and a knowledgeable staff to go with it.

Some kid is trying to tell me that soccer is more popular than hockey.. This is what I think:

1. Football
2. Basketball
3. Baseball
4. Hockey
5. UFC/Boxing/MMA/etc
6. Action Sports (BMX/dirtbiking, etc)
7. Soccer
8. Golf
9. Tennis

Is that accurate? What would your rankings be? Is there is an official survey (I heard ESPN did one), please link me!

I have seen kids asking for skateboard help and bmx help but they never get their question answered because their is not a good enough category for them. I think yahoo answers should make an extreme sports category for all of the motox, inline skaters,wakeboarders etc so they will have a better selection

I think if everyone gives it an interesting star or something yahoo looks into the answer.

I dont really know if I even want to go. I do freestyle BMX, and Action Sports photography. I mean if I could be using my time working on BMX and photography why even go. And yes I know that you can major in photography, but why? To relearn and then learn a couple new things?

I’m going right now. If I wasn’t worried about my financial situation and had something I liked and was making money at I wouldn’t go to college if I didn’t want to. I know a lot of people see college as something they need to do because it’s the social norm, but it’s something I’ve always wanted to do and looked forward to doing. If you decide to go look for a school where you can pursue your interests…some schools encourage you to do special projects outside of class, some you could get credit for your BMX riding or something related to BMX. (An example would be the Odyssey program at Hendrix college if you’ve heard of it; it’s getting more attention recently.)

In my case, my passion is horses while yours is BMX. I’m going to go to a school where I’ll pursue an academic major but I’ll still take classes related to horses, involve them in projects outside of school, and basically probably be more involved in them than I am now. And schools will probably give me scholarship money to do it. You would have to get more creative to involve BMX in your schooling but it could definitely work.
