Is airsoft better than paintballing?

February 6th, 2013 4 comments

I’m wanting to do one of these sports one day but not sure which one, so which one is better?

Airsoft and paintball are two sports that should be able to coexist, but don’t. The sports both serve different markets. Paintball seems to entertain the people that tend to play "extreme sports". It is characterized by fast paced, hard hitting, action. Airsoft serves the more tactical crowd, who prefer teamwork and strategy over speed of action. Airsoft is also very commonly used as an effective tool for training in Military/Police forces. Also, I see a lot of people try to use the excuse, "people lie in airsoft since there’s no mark from the paint." I am an airsofter, but occasionally play paintball. And I have to say, I have come across more liars in paintball than in airsoft. Just because you get paint on you, doesn’t mean it won’t come off. I’ve seen many paintballers carry around wet towels to wipe of the paint to stay in game. Since there is no paint in airsoft, this sport requires more honesty and trust in your fellow players. So, in my personal opinion, I think you should pick up airsoft as a sport. It’s more realistic as a sport, the guns shoot harder and faster, the guns are more realistic, and its a ton cheaper. But, if you like running in circles, spraying at every thing that moves, by all means, pick up a paintball marker.

What is a good setup for rigging a digital camcorder to a paintball mask?

November 24th, 2012 1 comment

I play airsoft and want to connect a cheap digital camcorder to the side of my mask so I can record my gameplay. What are some good models of camcorders I could use for this purpose, and how could I securely attach them to my mask (probably over my right temple)?

Please no dumb answers like "Tape it with duct tape." I want something solid and clean-looking.

action cam, designed for "extreme sports"

has adapters for mounting in varous places. A mate has one on his mask and another mate has one on his barrel (ala kill cam)

Another and I think better (from various reviews) is the tachyon XC but I’ve not played with one.

What is a good helmet or gun camera set up to use for playing paintball?

November 16th, 2012 1 comment

Im looking for something that will attach to a Tippmann X-7 or Invert Avatar Mask so I can video game play. Could I get advice on what gear to buy?

I’d recommend one of these

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Super-Action-Sports-Helmet-Camera-30FPS-/180549502598?pt=Camcorders_Professional_Video_Cameras

It’s massively adjustable so it can fit the helmet no problem, or you can tape it to the gun. I use it for airsoft and it’s great.

One word of warning would be that if you want to mount it on helmet, you need to mount it on your left hand side (so it’ll be upside down) if you want to get the gun barrel in the picture, so you’ll need software to flip it.

Hope this helps

Airsoft or Paintball ?

May 28th, 2012 4 comments

Hey !
I’d like to start a new Extreme sport and I’m wondering …
Paintball or Air soft ?
I love action, suspense and playin’ games like Cod, Rainbow six Vegas 😀 !

How much is it ? Guns, Equipment ? Thanks 😉

Airsoft = more realism, paintball is generally a bit more exciting and open to heroics (the guns are far worse, so mad dashes are a lot easier)

Both cost about the same to start, airsoft is a bit cheaper (just because the ammo is basically free). Start up cost is anywhere from $150, depending on how serious you are, probably $500 to get a really good load out.

Hope this helps

i "have" ADD, can i join the military?

May 26th, 2012 3 comments

I put have in quotations simply because I am positive that i don’t have it and was just misdiagnosed as a kid, but because it is in my medical records i must admit to "having" ADD. I know that you can be disqualified for ADD in the military, but i haven’t taken the pills in YEARS and very much want to serve. I want to join the army, Is it case-by-case basis? I plan on going to college, will it be harder to be qualified for service (without a waiver) in ROTC?
I play high school sports, and can effectively learn in school (3.2 GPA). I also play Action Sports (BMX and Airsoft/Paintball) and am in no way affected by its symptoms (assuming i even have it, which i doubt that i do). Should i schedule a visit with my doctor who originally prescribed me the pills in the first place, to re-diagnose me? What do you think are my chances of achieving my dream?

PS: I am still going to try as hard as I can to achieve my dream of being an officer in the United States Army, whether you think i will be DQ’d or not. I will not give up, just because someone on Yahoo Answers said it could not be done.

Thank You.
yes, i believe i can live the rest of my life without the use of any pills. i am able to concentrate and sit through long test, like the SAT and ACT, and score well on them.

Hello I am having a problem finding a sport for me?

May 9th, 2012 8 comments

Ok I am looking to find another action sport to do in my backyard or driveway. I (already) Dirt Bike, BMX, Scooter, Skateboard, Longboard, Ripstick, Paintball, Airsoft and Rollerblade. So do you have any good ideas for fun Action Sports i can do in my driveway or backyard?

Wow! Wouldn’t you think that would be enough? lol – I know how it is though, when you always want something new and exciting. Maybe you could make up your own sport? A friend of mine actually took apart some sport’s equipment (Skateboards, Bikes, Snowboards) and made them into pretty cool things.

If you have a trampoline you could take the wheels off of your BMX bike – pad and duct tape the bottoms and do crazy tricks and flips. Seen some cool stunts with those. =)

Information Regarding Action Sport Games Airsoft

October 18th, 2011 No comments

Whether it is a handful of people or a couple dozen, keeping your airsoft matches moving and everyone involved is a hard task. There are a couple of things you can do before the match starts to insure that games move along at a nice pace.

Have a set time between matches for reloading, discussion, hydrating, etc. If there is not a set time between matches or a time limit is not enforced, you will find that the time between games will grow longer and longer as the day goes along. This has a tendency to frustrate those that are the most excited or have a limited time frame in which to play airsoft. By regulating the in between time to 10 to 15 minutes it is possible to squeeze a few extra games in on game day.
