Things to do in Camber Sands

August 6th, 2012 2 comments

Camber Sands has become one of the most popular destinations for family holidays in the UK. Camber Sands Holidays can be enjoyed by families in the south eastern country of Sussex, set right on the beach.

As you’d expect with holiday parks near the coast, there are loads of water sports activities for you and your family to enjoy. For the more active among you, you can spend your afternoons jet skiing, water skiing or even surfing and wakeboarding in the sea with ‘Action Watersports’.

For those who like to explore the undersea life and learn about sharks you can pay a visit to the Blue Reef Aquarium, where you’ll find many different types of marine life, all willing to swim up to glass and say hello.

For family holidays on a smaller scale, quite literally, you can visit the Rye Town Model, which features a complete miniature scale model of a town and has demonstrations of royal visits and other occasions using voiceovers and lightshows. It has to be seen to be believed. As you’d expect with holiday parks near the coast, there are loads of water sports activities for you and your family to enjoy. Of course it’s the beaches that make Camber Sands holidays special for all of the family and it’s here where you’ll probably spend most of your time, relaxing, building sandcastles and eating ice-cream on memorable family holidays.

How can i work two part time jobs?

July 5th, 2012 3 comments

I am a junior in high school at the moment, and my grades are average to above average in all my classes. I recently quit a job that i did not like because of the work environment. Because my neighbor was able to offer me a job, i took it at a local restaurant/sports bar. My regular hours are Thursday thru saturday evenings, and sunday noon to two. I have now recently received a call from the manager of my local movie theatre, which is where i would love to work, since i am a friendly person, i am good with customer service, and i would get free movies for my girlfriend and i. Unfortunately, it being a movie theatre and all, it would require my free weekends, which are gone, thanks to my restaurant job. Since i have only been there a week and payday is monday (the day of my interview…) I can’t just quit, it would be very unethical and unfair to my manager. What should be my course of action here? I seriously need some help.

Why don’t you check to see if there’s any way you can have a regular schedule that allows you to do both? There is often flexibility in scheduling when it comes to these kind of jobs, and perhaps you can work mornings at one and afternoons/evenings at the other on the weekend. It will suck for you to have your whole weekend sucked away, but that’s what happens when you go to school and have 2 jobs.

If you can’t work both, you don’t really have an obligation to stay at the restaurant job if you find a better prospect. Although it is not the ideal situation to quit after a week, when it comes to a job you have to do what is best for yourself, and stop worrying about being unfair to other people. The manager might be annoyed, but it’s not like you’re irreplaceable, and he’s probably seen that situation before. The only part that I’d be concerned about is the fact that you were given the job by a neighbor – it’s a little tougher to burn bridges there, since he did you a favor. On the other hand, he was young once and will probably understand. If he is someone that is really important to you, or you need to stay on his good side, then that may weigh your decision the other way.

Though you haven’t been offered the theater job yet, so don’t get too ahead of yourself.
