January 29th, 2013 2 comments

Never been too big a fan of this genre aside from ssx, and i’m trying to get into it. I put the Action Sports game at a higher priority than just sport games though. Any suggestions to get me started.

Should I make a paintball park in Chiefland, Florida?

December 30th, 2012 2 comments

I wanted to start my own paintball park. I know it costs money and you need a contract with the city, but should I make a paintball park in Chiefland? I don’t know if people living there will want to play paintball and I don’t want my money to go to waste.
Look, I know I need to buy paintbLL equipment, but I just want to know if anyone thinks the people in Chiefland will play paintball.

According to USA Today, Paintball is the fastest growing action sport in the US. From a financial standpoint I think anyone who is opening a paintball field is likely to do well. At this time I would say if you are ANYWHERE near people, you stand a good chance of being successful. I personally am willing to travel (and frequently do) as far as a 8 hour drive to get to a good field or game. I don’t think I’m alone in that. Good luck and I say "Go For It!"

What timing adjustment should a camera be on for certain shots?

December 24th, 2012 3 comments

What is the most suitable timing to get the best out of a certain shot, like nature shots, action shots, sport shots, modelling shots etc. Please be specific,
Thanks.

Your best bet is to take a short course in slr cameras and general photography. Some, as I understand it, are available on line. Or perhaps a course at local college or university.

How do I begin a Career in Ski, Snow/Skateboard Graphics?

December 24th, 2012 2 comments

I have a degree in Fine Art and have always thought it would be awesome to have some of my Graphic Designs put onto a ski, skateboard, or snowboard. Is there someone out there who has, worked with any of the Action Sport companies and had there graphics put on an item?

surround yourself with influential aspects.
Go ski, go board. See whats cool and what people are buying. hang out at the board shop for a few, or ask the clerks what they like. Strong colors, hard edges. Get a few boards and trace out a template border and play with some ideas for the shape. Work with the space… dont force a design into a work area.

What is the best semi profesional video camera?

November 24th, 2012 1 comment

I am looking for a semi professional video camera that shoots 1080p HD. The two things it needs to have a mic input and either a built in memory or a SD card slot (preferably a SD card slot but not necessary). I would like it to be able to take both 30 fps and 60 (it would be nice but not necessary). I don’t have a opinion as to what brand but it needs to be around the $1000 or less range.

semi professional, its a lot of perception, like is the glass half full or half empty. if a camera is not professional, then it is consumer grade, period. If you want to think that a consumer camera is "just like" a pro camera but costs less then that is your perception. but for a reality check, remember that’s not true.

the first point is no professional camcorder uses SD cards for media. Those are ok for still shots, but they require super compression of video by a codec that does not hold up to professional use. And professional videographers shoot for the purpose of making money, not "prestige". They need to usually provide a client with a DVD of the finished work. The only consumer HD format that can make decent DVDs is the miniDV based HDV type which is not SD card or under $1000. When Sony invented AVCHD, it was never intended for pro use, but for people to show off home movies directly from the camera without editing. Same can be said for H.264 which is a public variant of Sony proprietary AVCHD. Having a mic input does not magically result in HiFi sound if the memory card based camcorder compresses the bejeebers out of the audio, and all do. Speaking of editing, AVCHD and H.264 have no support for timecode.

for the purpose of making DVDs, whether wedding/event, music video or action sport genres, the weapon of choice is miniDV. You can still get a consumer miniDV camera, the Canon ZR960 has a retail price way under $1000. It shoots in 16:9 so once it is on DVD, it will look better than any consumer SD card based HD camera.

What are some fun sports that I can wright a report on?

November 23rd, 2012 1 comment

I need to wright a one full page report on a sports topic but I don’t know any good sports. Also I’ve already wrote one on golf.

Well, easy topics would be mainstream sports like soccer, bastketball or football. If you want a fun unusual sport than you would probably want some action sport. Snowboarding, paintball, and hangliding are all excellent choices.
