Can I try out dish network before I commit/buy?

I know dish network offers a no commitment plan but was wondering if there was anyway for me to be able to try out Dish network for like 20-30 days?( I don’t know any one with Dish Network but my bro had Direct TV but he is thinking of switching to Dish He lives in the mountains of Colorado and I live in MN) and compare it with my comcast Cable. So I’d have both and I’d leave my Comcast HD box set up and then just have a Dish network HD box on top of that and be able to flip between the two through like an A/B switch or something. So say I turned to FSN North HD to watch the twins game and was watching it on Comcast HD for like the first 4 innings and then flipped the A/B switch and then watched the rest on the Dish Network HD to see which looked better. Is that even possible or would I have to run splitters and then lose quality anyways. Also I don’t want to really pay to try it out for the 20 30 days but I am pretty sure there’s no way around that. I am wanting to do this because when my brother comes home and watches TV here we have comcast digital Preferred with HD and he says that out HD picture quality is more like his SD quality with Direct TV and that his HD quality is a whole lot better than ours. Also he says our SD quality is really bad. Our HD set is a Westinghouse 32 Inch and I am using HDMI. I mean our SD quality for the most part looks find on our non HD TV’s but the fact like when I am watching like a Twins game the scoreboard thing is Cut off so I can’t see it all and just it seems like I could be getting much better quality with Dish Network. So back to my question is the only way to try out dish ,to do the no commit plan for like 20 days and then if we like just switch to a 2 year commitment. So I’d try it for like 20 days (I am assuming they’d charge me a prorated price for the 20 days) and then if I like just call them and say I want a 2 year commitment and then still be able to get all the promo deals that they offer and then be able to get any money credited back to me like the activation fee that I am assuming would be charged for going with no commitment. I am also assuming that they would charge for the dish as well but am unsure. We have an Old Direct TV dish still on our roof from about 10 years ago when he had Direct TV but I don’t think you can use a Dish Network receiver with that and the fact is it’s not an HD dish so I wouldn’t be able to compare HD quality. So is doing this even possible I’d go with dish networks lowest possible package that offers my Regional sports channels which is Americas Top 120 Plus and I am assuming they do a prorated price like this Americas top 120 plus is 44.99 a month with no commitment and I am assuming they take 44.99/30 to get 1.499666667 a day for service and then take that times 20 (days) to get 29.99333333 as a prorated price. I mean is it worth doing it (comparing the two) or will it just cost me too much money if the fact is we don’t like dish and stick with comcast.( I highly doubt that we wouldn’t like dish but you never know I’ve never experienced dish network before. I’ve only heard that they supposedly have the best service, quality, prices etc. Also keep in mind we have our cable bundled with High speed internet and so if we dropped cable our High speed internet would jump probably like 15 bucks but it may be worth it.

Installing a Dish antenna, cables, etc, costs $$ and while they provide a short window to allow you to change your mind, the reason must be better than "I changed my mind" .
However, Dish network offers excellent video quality – much better than cable, so as long as you can see the open sky, there is nothing to worry about.
