Serious question: should affirmative action or diversity standards be applied to sports?
Why or why not?

Yes. More Asian basketball players!!

Does affirmative action pick the pilot and crew of Air Force One? Don’t think so. Shows how much trust the establishment puts into it’s pet program.
Whites would make basketball boring. All their sportsmanship, 3 point shots, and fundamentals don’t bring crowds. People want blacks to play because slam dunks and phatitude sells tickets.
Blacks only excel at closely coached sports like "American" football, running, and boxing. Add mental work and planning and they lose big time. Hence why soccer is White and Asian. Hence why Hockey is White. Hence why the best UFC fighters are White, Latin, or Asian.

No. The old racists are dying out. Affirmative action and diversity standards are no longer required to ensure minorities are not discriminated against. We don’t need them anymore.

Yes Whites and Asians are inherently inferior in physical work

Therefore, blacks are inherently inferior in…….
No, affirmative action was used to prevent racism but actually promotes it if you assume all races can be discriminated against.
Sports teams should chose players based off of qualifications, not race.

No, and it’s not a serious question.

Wouldn’t that be interesting. I would like to see what some of the libs would say if white people who were inferrior athletes were let into the NBA and NFL to make it "fair". All is fine and dandy until it actually benefits a white person, then it would be racist.

As a diehard hockey fan, and a sports fan in general, I would be LIVID if they started to apply Affirmative Action not only to my beloved sport, but to others. Johnny can suck it. Hockey and Swimming are heavily biased towards white players, but Basketball and Football heavily favor black players. Should we start taking basketball players and try and putting them on skates? Or taking swimmers and expecting them to perform well on the football field? Of course not.
Watching that video was hilarious, and sad. Academically, professionally, athetically…there’s NO REASON to discriminate based on race, regardless what race that may be.

If a team discriminates against a gender, ethnicity, religion, etc then yes, affirmative action and diversity standards should apply. A sport is otherwise the literal practice of discrimination based on physical attributes and abilities, and with the application of any artificial diversity in that regard, the sport ceases to be a ‘sport’.
