Is small talk really necessary for good conversation with people?

I hate having conversations with people, I guess I’m way more of an action person than a talking person. If I do talk to people, I would talk about interests, not about useless crap I don’t care about. People say it’s always good to mention stuff like the weather, what the person is doing, about other people’s lives, but I could careless about any of that. I could talk for HOURS about sports, video games, snowboarding, cars, movies, etc. but only less than 5 minutes about random crap like gossip or other people’s personal stuff.

hallelujah im not the only one! thank you

Small talk is a important part of life. If you master that you could go far if life. I’m not much of a conversationalist myself. Learn to talk about what other people are interested in, you’ll make more friends.
