Best type of medicine to go into?
I’m thinking about either emergency medicine, sports medicine, or hematology, but I’m really open for anything. What are some possible fields of health that are looking like they have a bright future? I would consider any medical job that requires action, a sense of making a difference, but also a job that would be secure for years to come. Thanks.
I will plug my own, forensic pathology. Good hours, pretty good pay, no insurance company hassles, some real answers, research and teaching possibilities, constant learning, incredible job security.
I’m wanting to go into medicine and I want to go into Cardiothoracic or Neurosurgery ! I think you should go for what ever interests you most after all you don’t wanna get bored after a few years of doing it esp after years of studying it. Good luck with your future !

E.R Doctor’s and any specialty Dr’s. are the ones who get the good jobs. Don’t plan on having your own office practice. The reimbursement rates from insurance companies, medicare, medicaid, or medi-cal are pitiful and I know too many Dr’s. who have had to close their practice. Managed Care medicine has been the ruin of many Dr’s. Get a hospital job with a VA hospital, or Kaiser. You work for the hospital and are guaranteed a good salary, health insurance and other good benefits.

May I put in a plug for Family Practice or Internal Medicine? You can get richer in other fields, but you can do a lot of good in these areas. Not many medical graduates are choosing these fields.
