Using photographs of athletes on my website legally?
I am building a website about action sport athletes. I would like to use pictures and photographs of those athletes. How do I know if I can use a photo or not? I can easily use images from google but I don’t want to be sued for using those pics.
Each and every picture will probably have its own copyright laws and licensing. You should check the website from which your picture comes for details.

You can use stock photos from http://www.istockphoto.com or from somewhere like http://www.sxc.hu

I’m not enirely sure, but as long as it’s a non-payable site and you give cred to the original posters if your using other webmasters pics it should be fine. Just put a disclaimer saying they are not for sale …yada yada yada
