Good PC game? (read the question)?

Looking for a good single-player PC game to play, though I’m notoriously picky. I like action/adventure, FPS, and puzzle games, but don’t like sports, war, strategy, racing or multiplayer games (Starcraft, FF Tactics, Call of Duty, etc. are out). *Series* I’ve heartily enjoyed are Quake (+all id Software titles), Half-life (+other Orange Box games), GTA, Tomb Raider, Soul Reaver, Fatal Frame, Resident Evil, Fable, Final Fantasy, Gauntlet, Zelda. Some stand-out stand-alones include Katamari Damacy, Bioshock, Portal, Blood, Deus Ex, and of course Goldeneye.

My PC is solid for any title, any age. I can rock Crysis in high quality (still hate it) and have been enjoying some classic DOS games recently (Awesome Earl, anyone?). Interested in your suggestions.

Fallout 3 is a great game to play single player, definitely is worth a shot if you have not played yet. At high settings, the world can look unbelievable, and the gameplay is very satisfying. It’s kind of a cross between BioShock genre of eerie gameplay and the Elder Scrolls series, with the player being able to make choices that all lead to different endings and standings.

A great game if your into RPG’s is The Witcher Enhanced Edition, has upwards of 70 hours of gameplay and is really amazingly immersive and big. Another one that is coming out soon is Dragon Age by BioWare, which is gonna be similar to Mass Effect but allows for more choice and is a much raunchier game with obviously different gameplay mechanics.

For FPS exclusively though, Far Cry 2 is a nice game. Set in Africa, your a mercenary who can choose what faction you want to be a part of. It was applauded for its realism by most reviewers.
